WHAT IS A NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGIST:

Nuclear medicine technologists use a scanner to create images of various areas of a patient’s body. They prepare radioactive isotopes and administer them to patients undergoing the scans. The radioactive isotopes cause abnormal areas of the body to appear different from normal areas in the images.

WHAT DOES THE NUCLEAR MEDICINE SOCIETY DO:

The SCSNM is a society that was created to give the Nuclear Medicine Technologist an opportunity to gain continuing education credits for licensure, stay abreast of the newest technologies and changes in our field and, give technologist an opportunity to network. The society holds two meetings a year, one in the fall and one in the spring. The Presidents Fall Seminar is free to all current members and a five hour class, usually held at Midlands Technical College which will grant the attendee 4 CME's.  The Annual meeting, to be held on March 2019,is tentatively scheduled to occur in Myrtle Beach, SC and will be a 2 day meeting full of fun and networking. It results in 12 CME's and showcases the newest technology. You may register for this meeting in late November .
